I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
